VE Day Anniversary Celebrations at Claremont Lodge

VE Day Celebrations 1

The 80th anniversary of VE Day was a day of celebration and remembrance at Claremont Lodge, a friendly and supportive residential care home in Chichester.  Residents and staff joined in the celebrations, bringing everyone together for a meaningful day of celebrating a significant moment in British history.  The home was beautifully decorated with British flags, adding to the patriotic spirit of the day.

To mark the occasion, residents wore fun hats and gathered to share heartfelt memories while enjoying an array of treats.  An inviting spread of freshly baked scones, cakes, and other goodies was served with plenty of smiles.  The shared moments created a real sense of community, filling the home with laughter and chatter.

The entertainment featured live music from a wonderful singer, bringing smiles and singalongs.  Many were touched by the music that sparked memories of earlier days and stories from the past.  Events like this highlight the joy and connection that life in our elderly care home can bring, with regular opportunities to reflect and connect.

At Claremont Lodge, we’re passionate about creating meaningful moments for our residents while delivering exceptional care.  As a nursing home that provides personalised care alongside a lively calendar of events, we strive to provide a nurturing environment where every day is special.  Our VE day celebration was a beautiful reflection of the warmth and care of our community.

We believe a retirement home should be:

  • Where each person is an individual
  • Where there are no unnecessary rules and regulations
  • Where dignity, peace and comfort take priority
  • Where companionship, interest and activity flourishes.
  • And where people are supported to lead the fullest possible lives
